1. Introduction

Welcome to monuc (Money Under Control) (“we,” “us,” “our”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use Budgeter and related websites or services.

3. Data we collect

Account and profile data

We may collect your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, and information you provide when registering or using the service.

Bank-account data

Budgeter connects to supported bank accounts through a third-party provider, initially GoCardless Bank Account Data. You authorize access to the data shared through that provider flow. You must also agree to the applicable provider policy:

Usage and analytics

We may collect technical and behavioral data about your interactions with Budgeter, such as pages visited, features used, timestamps, and device or browser information. We use this to operate, debug, secure, and improve the service. We do not use this data for third-party advertising.

Cookies

We use essential cookies strictly to maintain your session and enable core functionality. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising, retargeting, or marketing.

4. How we use your data

• Service delivery and maintenance — to operate, maintain, and provide Budgeter features such as authentication, bank-account connections, budgeting, and support.
• Service improvement — to analyze usage patterns, fix issues, improve performance, and improve the user experience.
• Compliance and legal obligations — to comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect rights, property, or safety.

5. Data sharing and disclosure

• No selling or advertising disclosure — we do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal data for marketing or advertising purposes.
• Third-party service providers — we use trusted processors, including our bank-connection provider and infrastructure providers. They process data only to provide services on our behalf and are required to keep data confidential and secure.
• Legal compliance — we may disclose data if required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.

Apps and agents you connect

You can choose to connect compatible apps and agents, including AI assistants, to Budgeter. You sign in on Budgeter and approve the connection. A connection allows all supported agent actions, including reading financial information and making changes, within your existing account and sharing permissions.

Budgeter receives the requests and inputs the connected app sends. Depending on the action, Budgeter returns account names, currencies, balances, transaction dates, descriptions and amounts, categories, and budget allocations and activity. We use these requests to provide the requested action and enforce your access permissions. Changes update your Budgeter records and may affect records shared with others.

Budgeter does not automatically receive your conversation history or uploaded files. However, inputs sent by an app may include information from those conversations or files.

Information returned to the connected app is shared with its provider. That provider handles the information under its own terms, privacy policy and your account settings, not necessarily only on our instructions. Review those policies before connecting, and never share passwords or bank sign-in credentials in a conversation.

You can revoke access in Account → Manage agent connections. This stops further access through that connection. It does not undo saved changes or delete information already received by the provider. Use the provider’s controls or contact it about that information.

6. International data transfers

Budgeter’s servers are located in the European Union. Some third-party processors may transfer or store data in other countries. When this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, where required.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable law. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

Account and financial data: We retain your data while your Budgeter account is active. When you delete your Budgeter account or remove a financial account from Budgeter, we delete the associated data unless another user still has access to the same financial account. Shared financial records remain until no users retain access to that account.

Logs: We generally retain operational and security logs for 30 days.

Backups: Database backups are retained for up to 30 days. Deleted data may remain in backups until they expire.

8. Your rights

Under EU law, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure, also known as the “right to be forgotten”;
• restrict or object to certain processing activities;
• request data portability in a structured, machine-readable format; and
• withdraw consent at any time when processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, contact hello@monuc.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Sweden’s data protection authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), or another competent supervisory authority.

9. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is completely immune to risk, but we treat financial data as sensitive and work to protect it accordingly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you.
