About Monuc

Built from a real household budgeting problem.

Budgeter started as the tool we wanted for our own family: practical, clear, connected to real account activity, and focused on decisions instead of shame.

Why we started

We tried spreadsheets, bank apps, and budgeting tools that were either too complicated or too vague. None gave us the calm, pocket-based view we wanted for everyday decisions.

What we are building

A budgeting system that starts from money you actually have, connects to account activity where supported, and makes each category easier to reason about.

How we think about trust

Financial software should be clear about data, cautious with promises, and designed around the user’s interests instead of advertising incentives.

What Monuc means

Monuc stands for Money Under Control. Budgeter is the first expression of that idea: a calmer way to decide what money can safely do next.

1

Clarity over cleverness

Every feature should make a money decision easier to understand.

2

Reality over forecasts

The budget should be grounded in actual balances and transactions.

3

Privacy over growth hacks

A financial product should not need an advertising surveillance model.
